- Currently leading a team to assess and unwind a leading fixed income manager’s exposure to a failed counterparty. Work streams include broker quote review for pricing, trade confirmation review to trade details of open and unsettled trades, position re-pricing and valuation, master agreement analysis, data management, custom reporting, and assistance with regulatory and bankruptcy claim filings.
- Assessed and recommended improvement initiatives for a hybrid hedge fund/private equity fund/family office client’s organizational structure, roles and responsibilities, functional alignment, and operational and technology infrastructure, with focus on the finance and accounting department. Led the work stream focused on identifying comparable peers, conducting peer analysis and interviews, and generating a leading practices comparison.
- Assisted several leading investment managers to assess the sufficiency of and improve their investment compliance programs, including: reviewing investment management agreements, prospectuses and guideline documents; reviewing automated compliance rule coding; coding new automated compliance rules; testing automated compliance rules; facilitating portfolio migration between automated compliance system platforms; and comparing compliance policies and procedures to industry leading practices.
Conducted an operational assessment of a client’s current and future planned OTC derivatives trade processing. Assisted the client to redesign its operational processes and assess new vendor accounting system options.
- Implemented a trade order management, compliance and middle office system for equity trading. Project scope included all phases of system development (SDLC) across portfolio management, trading, compliance, trade processing, data warehousing, accounting and reporting. Co-managed use case development, testing, client training, and a $28 million budget.
- Designed a formal external hedge fund manager due diligence program for a fund-of-fund client, including assessment of questionnaires, document review processes and site visits. This engagement served as the basis for the client’s current external manager monitoring program.
